Phil Newson
Principle Automotive Technician
Phil started his career as an apprentice at his local MG Rover main dealer where he began to foster a particular interest in advanced vehicle technologies and electronics. Having completed his apprenticeship and looking to widen his experience Phil joined the AA, spending 4 years becoming a highly trained technician regularly receiving customer plaudits for his service. This success led to an approach from the Volkswagen-Audi group where he took a position in the newly created roadside assistance service gaining specialist training across all VAG group brands. Such was his success during this time that he received the highest level of personal commendation for exceptional service to customers from the Head of Volkswagen UK. The principles of Customer Focus and the highest standards of quality workmanship became the foundation of Phil and Adrian's ambition to start their own business and these ideals still hold strong today.
Phil's ongoing personal interest in cutting edge vehicle technologies, coupled with his deep and broad experience has helped build his reputation within the trade - leading to many complicated jobs that nobody else has been able to fix!
Adrian Cook
Principle Automotive Technician
Adrian started his career with a small independent garage where he completed his Apprenticeship NVQ as a technician. During this time he worked on all makes and models, providing a broad foundation of knowledge and experience.
Looking to further his experience he then took a role at a Hyundai main dealership which provided a different set of experiences and specialised knowledge.
Later, Adrian was recruited as a dedicated breakdown technician for the Volkswagen group roadside assistance service and it was during this time that he developed a further interest and experience with advanced diagnostics, enjoying the varied challenges of this career at a high level.
Having gained experience over many years from different areas of the motor trade and having met a similarly minded colleague in Phil whilst at Volkswagen, Adrian and Phil decided to set up AMT, offering a highly personal and quality service from advanced diagnostics to changing a tyre. Pride in his work is of utmost important on every job!
